Ahhh Shauny boy.
Fun fact: He was almost Ethan. In fact I didn't decide to change his name until I was doing the final touches to this page. I think Shaun fits a lot better, eh?

Speaking of name changes; Eva was very closely almost "Nikki", and Felix was almost "Oliver." Pretty glad I changed haha. Jeff, Benny boy and Anne pretty much always had their names, at least.

So WA hit over 60 subscribers!
Thanks, you guys! You're all lovely people and I love you all.<3

Also holy crap I really need to clean my desktop!
I just realized now how bad it's gotten. I used to be so organized...Jeez. So many dead icons from uninstalled crap and programs I never use...

Yay! New page! And congrats on over 60 subscribers. I'm surprised you don't have, like, an flew hundred at least. Here's to many more subscribers, and many more pages. :)
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 12:18 AM edit delete reply
Right on schedule!>;]

Thanks! Hahah, a few hundred?! Good lord no hahah. I'm still shocked I got past, like, 10. :D

Punch him in the face! He's asking for it!
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 12:26 AM edit delete reply
Hahaha. I'd say he deserves a scythe to the face, at that! Uncooperative little bugger.:D
RemoveraPersona 18th Aug 2014, 12:42 AM edit delete reply
Ehh.. If Felix really can't do anything, I'm pretty sure Ben could do somethin' to 'im, if not that an' a bit more. I'd bite my tongue if I were that Shaun guy.

Also, congratulations on 60 subs! Woo!
*breaks out the fancy cutlery* Time to celebrate, with digital cookies and ridiculously specific kitchenware!
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 12:47 AM edit delete reply
Hahah. True dat. Time for some Benny boy action?! Perhaps. Shaun just really has no clue what he's dealing with 'ere!

Awww yeah, cookies and fancy kitchen ware!!

Awesome new page. I really don't like Shaun. He needs a kick to the nads. I think it's intentional we're not supposed to like him though. Am I right? In that case, I LOVE YOU, SHAUN! ;-P Sorry, I'm feeling a little goofy right now. Also that desktop, gal. Wow haha. I generally have this personal rule that I have NO desktop icons on it at all. Only thing on my desktop now is the recycling bin and you can't get rid of that one haha. And don't you just HATE programs that install a desktop icon even though you never agreed to it? It's so annoying having to get rid of them. haha
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 11:47 AM edit delete reply
Hahah. Yeah he's not supposed to be likable. To be honest, as someone who loves just about all of my characters, /I/ don't even like him!

And yes oh jeez. I need to clean it. Typically I just leave my most important things on there but at some point I just stopped caring hahah. I need to just totally wipe it all. And yes I hate those oh man!
demcleod 18th Aug 2014, 12:58 PM edit delete reply
Haha, that's actually a good thing you don't like him. Most of the villains I've ever written I think are total douchebags. I don't consider Suko a villain by the way and actually really like him. But I can't even stand Gerald when I draw him because he's just a jerk. haha. Poor Roger is the loveable moron after all. I think him and your Jeffy would be buddies. :-D

Also I forgot to congratulate you on 60 subs. That's awesome and well deserved. I'm honored to have just reached over 30 subs. I was stuck at 24 for so long I thought, meh, I guess no one else likes S&R. haha. But really, kudos. I think I should re-read this comic one day because it's really that great. :-D
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 1:04 PM edit delete reply
I end up hating most of my villains haha. There's one I just love but I can't say any more than that... I can't wait to get to that part, though.

And probably! Jeff likes just about anyone!:D Thats kind of cute to imagine, actually! haha

Thanks! And grats yourself for reaching over 30, wow nice!!
Thank you heheh.:D Sometimes I read through the old pages myself to make sure everythings flowing the way I want haha. It's gotten to the point where I can't stand to look at the older pages!xD
demcleod 18th Aug 2014, 1:21 PM edit delete reply
Thanks. It's actually an awesome feeling reaching over 30. I know it's not everybody's thing with the Christian themes and I've noticed I even have/had a hater that was giving me 1 ratings on all my old comics. jerk. haha. I'm of the opinion if you don't really like something, you don't continue to read it. X-D As far as your old pages, I can totally get where you're coming from. My first pages were kinda sloppy, but that was actually the point. I've noticed my style keeps changing as well but I'm really satisfied with all my work and wouldn't change a thing. As far as "critiquing" your older work, which are not really critiques at all are that I can understand why you don't like your early pages, even though I do, don't get me wrong. The first few pages were a little rough around the edges, but I actually like that. Not as much as your style now and you have evolved for the better.

I also commend you on switching to a color format. It's actually easier this way to tell who is who and the color is just really great for this comic. You're excellent at your color schemes.

I also believe if you aren't happy with your early pages and can see ways to improve them, redo them in the future. The style of your comic now is perfect for those early pages. I actually like this whole series though. :-D
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 1:32 PM edit delete reply
Wow really? You should report that, that's pretty abusive! I think just going around spamming 1's is technically against some kind of rule, isn't it?:/
It's a shame people have to go around doing petty things like that, but at least it's not as common here as on others places, CF is pretty chill for the most part...

Haha, I've seen a lot of change and improvement from your older pages, it's great! I love re-reading through peoples stuff and seeing so much improvement.:D It's great watching everyone grow. It's funny isn't it how your style changes, sometimes slightly sometimes not so much, as you continue to draw? I keep going back and seeing all these differences I didn't even plan on. Like Benny boys hair changed so much, wow.

Hahah, thank you.:D
I think it is a good thing that I hate my older pages because it means i hopefully improved a little, haha. They were indeed rough since I was still trying to ...Iron the whole thing out, so to speak!

And thanks! Originally I didn't want to do color because I kinda saw it as a black and white comic haha. But the thing is most of my comics I plan on doing are full color, and by the time I get to those I'd like to have an ironed out coloring style. So I bit the bullet.:D
I love coloring, anyway, it's fun! Except for clothes those are kinda annoying haha.

As for redoing the old pages, I did consider it haha. Not anytime soon doh. Maybe someday I'll do a separate "Wastelanders Anonymous Redux" or something.:D

In the end, WA ended up being like a testing ground for all my future work, so it ended up kind of inconsistent as I experiment with various things, like coloring styles and word bubbles and the like haha.
demcleod 19th Aug 2014, 2:30 AM edit delete reply
Sorry it took me till now to reply. Yes, I remember reading the rules here not too long ago and it IS against the rules to do that, but I'm not holding any grudges and it has since stopped. It was kind of annoying to see so many 1 ratings on my early stuff at first but ah well. And I still have a 4.5 overall rating at least.

Sam & Roger is kind of a testing ground too so my styles and approach were never meant to be consistent. It's a gag comic mostly. And I'm still not completely happy with the look. I think it's too "pointy" in a lot of places now, though a lot of people seem to like the look. I'm thinking about doing a mixture of that and the style I was using before. I've actually been practicing on this method, and I'm actually really happy with the work I've done on these "practices" and I want to redesign Sam & Roger's hands mostly into the more cartoonish style I've been using for a different project. I really liked the look of the hands. Very cartoon looking which I'm really going for.

I would redo all my previous strips but I really like the work I've done on the entire series and those early strips hold sentimental value to me.

Anyway, I think Wastelanders Anonymous is great the entire way through and I actually like seeing the evolution of your style as well. :-D
Seabiscuit 19th Aug 2014, 2:42 AM edit delete reply
S'fine! I wonder how late I am here haha, this didn't pop up in my notifications...
Well... Still.D:
If it happens again, you should probably report it anyway haha. You don't have to hold a grudge per say, I'm more worried people like that might deter some new comets from the site or something.;(

I definitely understand the test ground feeling haha. I really like the pointy style as well! But I think more than anything, the most important thing is that you yourself are satisfied with your style.;] keep experimenting! It's fun to watch Sam & Roger change over time!

I'd say keep the old strips ;D it's just fun watching it improve so much haha. Though it /would/ be reeally cool to see the earlier strips with the current style. I can totally understand the sentimental feeling haha, if I ever did redo my older pages I would still keep the originals around somewhere.

And thank you!:D

Here's to further evolution of both of our comics >;]
demcleod 19th Aug 2014, 3:08 AM edit delete reply
Thanks and I'm glad you like the pointy style. I'm not going to change the entire method though and a lot of the pointyness will remain, especially the backgrounds in the comic. It's just certain areas on their bodies I want to change. While I find myself surprisingly good at drawing hands, I want them to be less real looking for Sam & Roger. I think you'll really like the improvements I have planned for future strips (The one I'm working on now is still in the pointy style.) I guess another thing I didn't like were the spiky looking elbows.

It's funny because I'm working on an experimental style film called The Crime Fighters, which was initially going to be a Sam & Roger flick but the scrip has changed a lot and have called for original characters, so I was designing characters with a style similar to Sam & Roger while changing and experimenting certain things and I REALLY loved the designs of these characters and thought these advancements should also be utilized in Sam & Roger. After all, this experimental film, which will be 90 minutes, is set in Wondervalley, the same fictional town as S&R. So if I'm really satisfied with the script, I can see the police officers in it becoming part of many Sam & Roger gags.

The film is going to be a lot like a feature length motion comic, using word bubbles as dialogue because I really don't want to hire an entire voice cast. It'll be sorta in the silent film vein of films, with heavy slapstick and I will score the film myself since I'm pretty good at making music. I'll probably get free files on the internet for sound effects though. The only real help I'm getting in this project is my sister agreed to co-write and add in more jokes. She even created the notorious character "Haiku Guy" who will be a running gag in the movie.

This will probably be my most ambitious project to date. I don't think it'll be fully animated in every scene, except for the scenes that really call for it. The kinda Tom & Jerry esque stuff that'll be in it. It will also have a 3 act structure like most films.

Haha, I totally got off talking about S&R but I'm looking forward to working on that experimental film. So yeah, if I become fond of the characters from this movie, they will definitely be appearing in Sam & Roger comics. X-D

And if the 1 ratings start up again, I'll definitely report it. I actually had that feeling too that it will deter people away from getting into my comics. But luckily I keep getting subs and people seem to really enjoy my offbeat sense of humor.

And here here to both our comics further evolving. :-D
Seabiscuit 19th Aug 2014, 10:33 AM edit delete reply
Ahh. I do love the way you do hands, tho!
I can't wait to see what you change in the future.;]

A film?! Ohhh.
That sounds really damn cool! Will Sam & Roger make a cameo?;]
Can't wait to see it!
So it'll be like that Sam & Roger 50th comic animation you did? Sounds really cool! I can't wait to hear your music in it too.;D

Seriously doh that sounds awesome! When does it come out ;D

demcleod 20th Aug 2014, 12:40 AM edit delete reply
Aww, thanks. It will be a lot like the 50th comic animation, which actually inspired me to do it. I'm definitely wanting Sam & Roger to make a cameo or two. I have no clue when it'll come out since it's quite an ambitious project and I haven't even finished the script. It's going to be 90 minutes so it's probably going to take FOREVER haha. But I'm really looking forward to working on it.

Yeah, I like the way I do hands too, but I think you'll also like the silly looking ones.

The score of the movie will probably be the easiest part because I've made nearly 20 albums in the past. None of them are released anymore, except for the rap album I did. I really like working on instrumentals so it should be fun. I want the music to be a little silly though. :-D

Ohhh, well... Shaun, I'd say that you shouldn't try an' start something with a guy who's a head taller than you. XD
That desktop, though! I'm very OCD about my desktop, and I'm always rearranging the icons and stuff, trying to organize it, adding new ones and deleting others. I really don't know why. Congrats, your desktop has more icons than mine does! You should feel proud! XD
Seabiscuit 18th Aug 2014, 11:48 AM edit delete reply
Right? Think before you speak, Shaun! He needs his ass kicked.

I used to be really OCD about my desktop. I don't know what happened to me hahah. I think probably around the time my PC started to actually slowly die I just kinda thought "Meh, it doesn't even matter anymore." xD
I'm not prrroud! It's a mess hahahah

Nope. We all know who the REAL cute one is in this comic and that goes to Jeffy. He's so innocent and loveable. :-D Shaun is a tool. X-D

Hahaha, true dat. For me the character I find cutest has not appeared yet.;)
demcleod 19th Aug 2014, 3:17 AM edit delete reply
For some reason that made me think of a female Jeff equivalent who sparks a romance with Jeff. Two Jeff zombies would be the CUTEST couple ever. X-D

It's a female, but it won't be a zombie or Jeff equivalent. ;)))
That would be damn adorable, though, haha!
